An AutoCAD Drafter, also known as a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Drafter, plays a crucial
role in the creation of detailed technical drawings and plans used in various industries such as
architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and construction. The primary responsibility of an
AutoCAD Drafter is to translate design concepts and specifications into precise, computer-
generated drawings using AutoCAD software.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Drafting and Design:
– Create detailed, accurate, and clear technical drawings based on design specifications,
sketches, and other input materials.
– Interpret and incorporate design changes into existing drawings.
2. AutoCAD Proficiency:
– Demonstrate advanced proficiency in using AutoCAD software to create 2D and 3D
drawings.
– Stay updated on the latest AutoCAD tools and features to enhance efficiency and
productivity.
3. Collaboration:
– Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project
requirements and design objectives.
– Communicate effectively with team members to address design issues and modifications.
4. Documentation:
– Prepare and maintain documentation of design changes, revisions, and project progress.
– Organize and manage drawing files and related documentation for easy retrieval.
5. Quality Control:
– Conduct reviews and quality checks to ensure drawings adhere to industry standards,
regulations, and project specifications.
– Identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in drawings.
6. Technical Support:
– Provide technical support to project teams by generating accurate drawings and assisting in
problem-solving.
– Respond to inquiries and clarifications related to drawings from various stakeholders.
7. Adherence to Standards:
– Adhere to organizational and industry-specific drafting standards and best practices.
– Maintain awareness of industry trends and updates in drafting methodologies.

Requirements:
– Proficient in AutoCAD software.
– Strong understanding of drafting techniques, standards, and conventions.
– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Education and Experience:
– A degree or diploma in drafting, engineering, or a related field. (US Nationals Only)
– Proven experience as an AutoCAD Drafter in a relevant industry may be required. Low
voltage experience is a plus.
