Overview:
The Budget Analyst is a key member of our Deal Desk team, specializing in the financial management and budget development of deals related to Life Safety and Electronic Security Systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, marketing, customer success, and legal, to ensure efficient processing and approval of complex and high-value deals. The Budget Analyst is responsible for defining pricing terms, developing and managing budgets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices, and providing essential support during negotiations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in budget development and engineering, with specific experience in the Life Safety and Electronic Security Systems sectors. They will possess the authority to make critical business decisions, streamline deal workflows, and collaborate with various departments to optimize the sales process. This role is crucial in reducing deal cycle times and enhancing the efficiency of deal desk operations, ultimately supporting the delivery of cutting-edge safety and security solutions to our clients.
Roles & Duties:
- Creating and Managing Deals: Assist with the creation and management of complex deals from proposal through to completion.
- Approving Deals: Review and approve deals, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and strategic goals.
- Defining Standard Parameters: Establish and manage standard deal parameters and tools for the sales team.
- Handling Internal Issues: Serve as the point of contact for resolving internal issues related to contract negotiations and deal processing.
- Finding Solutions: Develop creative solutions for non-standard deals while maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Collaborating with Departments: Engage with finance, legal, and other business units to gather input and facilitate deal processes.
- Supporting Sales Department: Provide critical support to the sales team, allowing them to focus on finding and closing deals.
- Negotiation Support: Assist in structuring deals to balance company objectives with customer needs, ensuring a smooth negotiation process.
- Finalizing Deals: Ensure all required documentation is signed and that deals comply with financial and engineering requirements.
Education:
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. A degree in Science or Technology is preferred and considered an asset
- Certified with multiple Electonic Security and/or Life Safety systems
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite products (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meets, Drive).
- General basic knowledge of and ability to learn project management software such as MS Project and other related programs and systems
Desired:
- Salary: ~$70K to 90K; DOE (Education and Experience)
- Location: preferred candidate that resides in the Temecula, CA or Charleston, SC.
- May be required to travel up to 5% percent
